Avida Centera 3D Street Painting Contest Mechanics

Here is the mechanics for the upcoming Avida Towers Centera 3D Street Painting Festival.

Activity Description & Mechanics:

This is a whole day contest of street painting activity at the site of Avida Towers Centera (Reliance Street corner EDSA) that will have students and professional painters/artists as participants. The participants will each be given ample space along the street to paint their work and will be reviewed by a panel of judges upon completion.

Theme: “Fast Forward: Life at the Center of the Metropolis”

Date:
March 18, 2011 (10pm painting starts) to
March 19, 2011 (6am painting ends)

Display Dates: Artworks will be displayed from March 18, 2011 to March 20, 2011 (street will be closed for viewing only on these dates) but will remain open for public viewing until removed by Avida Land Corp.

Venue: The Avida Towers Centera at Reliance street corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City. Artworks will be displayed on Reliance Street (outside project site), walls and also inside the project site.

Mechanics:

Who Can Join:
1. This contest is open to Filipino professional artists and students who are 18-30 years old.
2. Participants must form a team composed of three to seven (3-7) members only to qualify.

Registration & Submission of Entries:
1. Interested participants must first submit a soft copy of their design proposal to Avida Land Corp.’s PR agency Christopher Cahilig Consultancy via email to chriscahilig2011@gmail.com in JPEG format only. The design proposal’s measurements must fit the allotted space for them on the street. The email must also include the following:

A. Group Name
B. Names of all the members
C. Title of the piece

2. Submitted design proposals must conform to the theme “Fast Forward: Life at the Center of the Metropolis”.
3. The submitted design proposals will first be reviewed by Avida’s designated panel of judges who will then make a short-list. The short-listed designs will be considered as official finalists of the contest.

Contest Proper:
1. Contestants will be notified through text and email if their design proposals are short-listed and are part of finalists of the contest.
2. The finalists will then be invited to the Avida Towers Centera Street Painting site at Reliance street corner EDSA where they will paint their respective designs. Avida Land Corp. will provide the finalists with appropriate materials to finish their pieces but they may also bring their own materials except for mixed media (thumbtacks, nails, etc).
3. The Avida Towers Centera logo must be incorporated in all of the finalists’ works.
4. The time allotted for them to finish their designs will be eight (8) hours from 10:00 p.m. of March 18, 2011 to 6:00 a.m. of the following day, March 19, 2011. Failure to show up during the scheduled date of the design painting will mean forfeiture of the slot & space given to them.
5. Upon completion of their pieces, the panel of judges will then review finalists’ works and name the winners on March 19, 2011.

Facebook Contest
1. All chosen finalists’ artworks will be displayed in Avida Land Corp.’s official Facebook page.
2. The artwork with the most number of “likes” will win a special prize from Avida Land Corp. apart from the regular prizes to be won in the regular contest proper.

Contest Guidelines:
1. The judges’ decision is final.
2. All finalists’ entries shall be considered properties of Avida Land Corp. and may be used by the company for exhibit and promotional purposes (ie. PR, Collaterals, Print, Point of Sale Materials, Merchandising Materials, website) with due credits to the owner.
3. Employees, family members, and relatives up to the third consanguinity of Avida Land Corp., Ayala Land Corp., and Christopher Cahilig Consultancy are prohibited from joining the contest.
4. Entries that do not conform to the above requirements shall be disqualified from the contest.
